Some couples want a big production. Dan and Maddie wanted their people, a beautiful spot, and a day they could actually enjoy. On May 9, 2026, their outdoor wedding at Heritage Hills Golf Resort in York, Pennsylvania, was exactly that.
After a stretch of living in Wisconsin, these two came back home to York, close to the families they love. For a couple this family oriented, it only made sense to say “I do” right here, surrounded by everyone who helped shape them.
And for Dan, a man who loves everything about golf, getting married at a golf resort was a pretty easy sell.
Maddie is calm, down to earth, and the kind of person who wants to soak in every moment. Her mom helped her into her dress, and that quiet time together gave us some of my favorite frames of the day.
Down the hall, Dan was hanging out with his guys. He told me up front he thought getting ready photos were a little corny, so we kept it simple. I stopped by for a few relaxed shots, and that was all he needed. Honestly, it fit him perfectly.
I have photographed a lot of weddings at Heritage Hills, including Taylor and Eric’s golf course wedding, and it never gets old. Dan and Maddie said their vows outside, surrounded by family and friends, and you could feel how much this day meant to everyone there.
The sun had other plans and went down faster than we wanted, but we still caught a glimpse of that golden light. Then we headed to the pond on the property and made some reflection portraits that turned out to be some of the best images of the night. Sometimes the plan B shots end up being the ones you love most.
If you were at this reception, you heard Dan’s laugh. It carried across the whole room, and it set the tone for the night. Their friends gave toasts full of love and great stories, and it was clear these two are surrounded by people who think the world of them.
